    Male bettas build bubblenests...
         
    After mating, the males will put the eggs in the nest and then guard them dilligently...
         
  When they hatch, bettas are very small. Pictured here are some at just 3 days old. Notice their size in relation to the bubbles in the nest!
       
  At one month old, they're still small...
    
       
  At three months, they are starting to look like fish, gaining color and form...
       
At six months, they're ready to swim!
