CBS Meeting Minutes – October 25, 2003

The October meeting was held in the greater Sacramento Area and consisted of a tour of 3 Tropical Fish Stores. There were lots of new, returning and potential CBS members in attendance. It was great to meet several members of the Sacramento Aquarium society who attended the meeting as well.

First stop was at Exotic Aquarium on Florin Road in Sacramento

A big place with a wide selection of fresh water tropicals and a nice display of Koi and lots of African cichlids.

The second stop was at O Street Aquarium on "O" Street in Sacramento

A small but well organized store with lots of great displays of African cichlids.

The third stop was at Capitol Aquarium on 29th street in Sacramento

I’m glad we saved the best for last. This was the best aquarium store I’ve ever seen. Big and well organized with rows and rows of tanks. Beautiful displays of bettas in lighted betta barracks which really showed off their striking color. A fabulous selection of both fresh water and salt water species.

The Last stop was at the Tower Café – where we were able to relax and have an early dinner. The food was great and the company and conversation was lively and interesting.

    • November – No meeting
    • December – Christmas Party Meeting at Kathy and Joe Cooper’s house. Located at 5876 Cold Water Drive in Castro Valley. Directions will be posted on the CBS website.

CBS Club Elections are coming up. Please submit your nominations for 2004 CBS officers via e-mail to lee_bettaworks@comcast.net by the end of October. Ballots will be mailed out in the November Newsletter and 2004 officers will be installed at the December Meeting/Christmas Party.
