Membership Information
Membership dues are voluntary. The dues help cover the expenses associated
with running the club, including maintaining the web site and staging the annual IBC shows. Dues
cover one year of membership from the date of payment. If you don't pay dues, you can still come
to our meetings and go to our shows. The dues are to help us so we can continue to provide these
for everybody's betta enjoyment.
We do most of our conversations outside of meetings on Facebook. Everybody can
join our facebook group and join in conversation, whether you're a dues-paying CBS member or not (you
don't even have to be local to be part of the facebook!).
Join us on the California Betta Society Facebook group.
If you'd like to be a dues-paying member, there are three types of CBS memberships: Individual, Family, and Student.
- Individual memberships are the most common. This gives a single member a vote and the right
to show fish in IBC shows. An individual membership is $10.00/year.
- Family Memberships cover all persons living at one address. The names of the people need
to be listed on the membership application. This membership gives one vote to the group of
members, but each member of the family can enter fish in IBC shows. Family memberships
are available for $15.00/year.
- Student memberships are for actual students. a student member has the same rights as an
Individual member. Student memberships are $8.00/year.
If you are a new IBC member, CBS fees are waived for the first year.
CBS members also have special shipping discounts when we do group Aquabid orders (watch the mailing list for announcment as to when we'll do that.)
You can join by PayPal or by coming to a meeting.
If you join at a meeting, membership forms will be available.
You can join CBS using PayPal by clicking on the
following PayPal logo. We will add you to the mailing list of our upcoming shows. (We do most of our talking on Facebook, see above.)
NOTE: If you have any questions, please send email to
treasurer@cbsbettas.org and we'll do our best to answer.
